The weather's warming up and earlier this week they enjoyed some cold treats. It was actually on the deck in the backyard but they had some sticky fun and are pretty cute when they sit next to each other on the steps and just eat and share their Popsicles.

Curly?

We already know we have one curly red headed child. Here she is being a little cheesy. She wanted me to take a picture of her next to the "lips and hair" that she made with her snack (the hair is the cereal and the pretzel is the lips. If you didn't already figure that out!;)

But, did we really end up with two curly red headed children!? Oscar's hair is growing in slower than Holly's and Brad cuts it and keeps it short but it's been a little while since he had a cut and with a little sunscreen and water in it today, it looked curly to me. Holly's hair wasn't particularly curly unless you wet it until it grew in more.

He always wants the camera so that's what he's got his eyes on! Determined little boy.

I forgot I had a blog

He's pretty proud of the cereal he just dumped out onto the floor. He got it off the counter all by himself. One of the negatives of having tall kids:)

Okay, so it's pretty obvious by now that I am not a top notch blogger. Posting 1-2 times in a six month period doesn't draw a big following. I did, however, spend a little time looking at other people's blogs tonight and brought myself to at least do a small post and put some pictures on here. We finally got our computer semi fixed and it's nice to be able to get the pictures off our memory card again.

So, a lot has changed. Brad got his Kentucky license in January and we spent a couple months trying to figure out what options we had (opening a practice, fill-in work, associate positions,etc). We tried to take every option and take it as far as we could go. This process ended with Brad taking and offer to be an associate in a small town called Falmouth (Fal-muth not Foul Mouth;) in northern Kentucky. If was the most pay and best bonus system that we had to consider thus far. Plus, he will be the only doctor treating the patients there and it's the only chiropractor in that county(population 2500 for the town and about 15,000 for the county. I know not huge but the ratio for chiropractors is pretty good) . It is a small town. I'm not sure how I would have done coming straight from CA to where we will be living about 25 minutes north of Falmouth in a town with a population of more like 8,000. La Grange broke me into Kentucky and smaller town living during the last year. Anyway, we have made an offer on a home and will be moving as soon as we can. Brad is already becoming a small town man. Before he left for work the other day he said "Honey, I need you to drive in to town today and get something for me". Something about that statement made me laugh. Drive into town? What does that mean? I thought we lived in the town and we drove to the city? Where are we moving to?!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures I took of the kids recently.

An excuse for not posting

Not that most of you are just waiting for my next blogging move to plan your life but I thought I would just let you know one of the reason's I haven't blogged lately. We have been having computer problems which keeps us from getting our pictures from our memory card to the computer. We were working on fixing it and have since adapted a few things to get by but have not had it fixed yet. Fixing it may entail erasing everything on our computer so we wanted to make sure it was all backed up before we proceeded with that and well we're still not really working on it. I want to get our desk cleaned up so we can have someone else come and look at it but I haven't been able to complete that task yet. So, basically we are distracted with day to day life but hopefully we can put more thought into getting this taken care of so I can post some new pictures. Anyway...

We are doing well. Thrilled to pieces that Brad passed his part 4 boards and will be getting his license in the next week or two hopefully. This means he can legally practice as a chiropractor in the state of Kentucky. We certainly have some decisions to make now. Will Kentucky be our forever (or at least a good while) home?? Hmmm... I guess time will tell.

Halloween - I know it's late and I haven't posted in a long time...

Here's a shot from Halloween. Brad and I did not have costumes planned but Holly explained many times that we needed to have a costume too! So, we threw something together to appease the princess! So, here's the question to you: Is Brad dressed up as a farmer for Halloween or is he just getting really comfortable here in Kentucky!? (You may never really know;)

OSCAR'S HAIR FINALLY GREW IN!!;) So, I think we all have a picture somewhere with this thing on. It was Oscar's turn. He ended up settling for just being Mickey Mouse without the fro. Too bad, huh?:)

Holly had a Birthday!

So, this is a little late but better late then never right? Well, Holly turned three in August. I can't believe it! She's 39" tall and 34 lbs. If we measured right then I think that puts her in the 80th percentile for height which would be the first time she's dipped below the 90th or off the charts since birth! We had a fun and simple family celebration on her birthday!

Started off the day with a happy face pancake breakfast!

And blew out her birthday candles (with a little help from daddy across the table) and ate her cake and ice cream.

What's that? An outing?

Brad had the Friday before Labor Day off work and we ventured out to Water Front Park. A free park with playgrounds and water fun right by the river. It was pretty hot and Holly had a blast! A patient who came into Brad's work told him about it. Good find. After that we ventured to down town Louisville to an Italian restaurant where another patient who runs part of the restaurant offered to treat us to whatever we wanted if we would just stop by. So, we did and had a very good steak and cheese pizza. All for only the cost of gas to get there! Not too bad!
